What to expect
We offer single visits or long-term projects, and will create a unique experience for each group based on their specific needs and interests after an initial consultation.
Single visits entail an interactive presentation about honeybees featuring an observation hive where students can see live honeybees at work. Students will learn about the different bees in a hive, practice locating the queen bee, and handle authentic beekeeping equipment. They may also participate in developmentally-appropriate projects, such as creating a honeybee life cycle bracelet.
Long-term projects offer a deeper dive into honeybees and other pollinators and their importance in our ecosystem. Students will contextualize the importance of pollinators in their own community through activities like planting a pollinator garden.
This program fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of honeybees, emphasizing hands-on learning to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
